Rocket wasn't really sold on the whole 'mutant family' life, but she decided to come and go from the camp as she needed to. She wanted to protect those who had yet to find the camp, and there was still good to be done nearby. However, she knew she had to abide by their rules, and training was part of the process. She was not amused by the choice of mentor giving to her, as she really didn't understand Dimitri from the little she had known of him. She doubted he could really teach her anything, but she guessed she would give him a shot.
The dummies were straw men with a round target over their heart, belly, head, and vital arteries in the arms and legs. Rocket was in cat-form, as she didn't really want people to know her human form. She looked so much like her father, despite the beauty her mother had given her. She wasn't ready to share that with everyone in the camp. She wore boots and stood as tall as a cat might. She had a belt around her waist with two daggers tucked in it.
Rocket unsheathed her weapons and licked one of them, before putting it in her mouth. She then bent over and when she was prepared, she charged at the target on all fours. She reached the dummy easily, first stabbing a dagger in his leg, before climbing him and grabbing the weapon from her mouth. She stood over the head for a brief moment to savor it, as she was allowed before most killings. She didn't enjoy killing, no, she savored the precision. She then stabbed the head target and jumped from the dummy, dusting off her chest.

Dimitri decided to take Slade’s advice and practice fighting with something other than his powers. Not that it really mattered in his opinion because if someone had one of his triggers he’d be shut down whether he was using his powers or not. Dimitri fingered his chosen weapon, a gun, and entered the training grounds.
He wasn’t really surprised someone was already there, but he was surprised that it was one of the people he had been tasked with training. He watched her precisely attack and ‘kill’ the dummy she was working with. He walked up to her, changing her hat to a wreath of roses for the fun of it. “Pretty little kitty having fun?” he asked lightly.

The cat looked up and took her hat off, "That's real' cute, mon ami', now mind changin' it back to sometin' useful? Sexist." She whispered the last part, but made sure it was just loud enough to hear. She gave an annoyed look to her mentor, recognizing his face from the crowd before.
She pulled on her gloves, making them fit a bit better. Her Cajun accent was something her father had given her, but she didn't really use it unless she wanted to confuse people, or talk down to them. She stretched her paws to the sky, smiling a bit, as if her words were more playful than they sounded.

He smirked and turned the hat into a duck. "You might want to be a little nicer seeing as how I'm one of the people in charge of the camp, and I happen to be your mentor, Mon petite peche" He snickered and made her hat normal again. "Besides, I call all kitty cats pretty kitties. I like them, they're adorable" He smiled happily. One of his favorite things was playing with animals. Hugging them made him feel better about his life.
He snapped his fingers and pointed at her.She was teasing and it was adorable, but there needed to be some amount of respect or where was he going to be? "I suppose I need to mentor you, don't I?" but what the heck was he supposed to do? Or even teach? It made him wonder again why Slade had sought him out. He couldn't imagine he would ever be that important in the future, regardless of what Slade said.

She pulled her ears back at the duck, then threw her hat off when he turned it normal again. "Is this your idea of mentoring?" She wondered, flicking her tail back and forth. She never had any mentors aside from her father, so the bar was rather high. She crossed her arms, "Just because you're one of the camp founders, doesn't mean I can't just leave this camp and forget about you guys." She reminded him, her accent now back to normal.
The cat's shoulders fell a bit and she let her arms rest. She walked over to him and tilted her head, "Yeah? I think it is I who could teach you a few things." She offered, smirking a bit. She put her paw on his leg and circled him, changing behind his back into a woman with a white hooded coat that looked medieval almost. Her hand was now around his waist, until she let go and walked away from him a bit so he could see her from the back. "The name's Rocket, Monsieur."

"No, it's my idea of teaching humility and how you can never trust appearances" he stated and grinned. "You're right. And I wouldn't stop you. Being here is your choice and never think it isn't. Our mission is to promote trust and a strong bond among the people here. If that's not your bag leave whenever you want" he nodded calmly and scratched his ear. "It's all about freedom. At least where I stand"
He laughed at that and nodded, agreeing wholeheartedly. "Go ahead, teach me! There is so much I want to learn. So much I need to learn" He gave her a bow and for a moment flickered to his monster form before being human again. "I'm Dimitri. Pleasure to have you here, Rocket"

She looked behind her at his monster form, then removed her hood, revealing not only the beautiful color her mother had given her, but the hair that her father had always admired. "Dimitri, what a strange name. I suppose I like it." She shrugged, turning to face him now. She walked over to him again, standing in front of him, "First things first, lay off the powers." She instructed, putting her hands behind her back and walking around him, observing his features to instruct him further. His posture was strange, perhaps he didn't grow up like the others?
"Also, I'm a lady, so be a bit nicer. I may be a trained assassin, but I still have graces." She assured him. She took a deep breath and bit her thumb, looking over him again. "Yes, no- that's not it... oh yes." She started talking to herself for a moment. "You're uncomfortable too often. I imagine you've been around women before? So what seems to be the problem?"

He blinked at her human form and smiled. "Eh bien! Tu es tres bon!" he complimented. She was a very pretty young woman. Her eyes were very striking. He raised his hands and shrugged. "No powers, okay" in all honesty he did it to remind himself he wasn't in a place where doing that would get him punished if he did it without permission. But he could play along with the girl for now. It would be interesting to see where it led.
He chuckled. "Lady. Of course, I'll remember next time" She was amusing. He liked her already. He rolled his eyes. "Women yes. Women not in lab coats holding needles, no. Or human-hating mutants who in all honesty were more like sisters than actual women. Beside, I'm nervous about everyone" a very true fact. He liked the idea of the camp, but was afraid that one of them was going to backstab him and Slade and Tomoe.

"Flattery will get you everywhere," She smiled, fixing the collar of his shirt, showing she was comfortable with him. She remembered being scared of men and scared of people in general after they took her mother, but it was something her father quickly fixed. She was no longer afraid of the darkness in the world. She had to be the light, otherwise the darkness would just swallow her whole.
"Trust issues and experimented on, huh'? A typical tortured back. " She commented, not one for immediate sympathy when she figured he didn't need it. She did feel sorry for him, but clearly he was better off now and saying sorry wasn't going to help him here and now. She would have tried to free him, but he was as free as she was, so she saw no need to continue on the subject. "They tortured and killed my mother and took my pop. Strange sort of people, aren't they?" She commented dryly, having been deprived of feeling angry or depressed about her circumstances. She instead used them for strength; something the assassins had taught her.
She looked into his eyes for awhile, "You shouldn't be nervous. Word is your power is something unstoppable." She confessed, having heard most of the gossip around the camp. She brought her tongue over the top of her teeth, "Lesson two, don't let others swallow you up. You're the only one who can make their words weapons. And aside from those, your powers and your precious mentor and friends can take care of the other weapons."

he chuckled at that and inclined his head. She liked flattery, it was cute. "Oh, I know. Typical for this place. But I said it as a fact, not a cry for pity" he winked at her. "I accidentally tortured my own parents into insanity with my powers. Hence being nervous" he gave her a big grin. "It's unstoppable until it isn't. Trust me, this is more a burden than a gift. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy or closest friend" He nodded thoughtfully. "So people say. It's something I work on every day"

" Perhaps." She tilted her head a bit at the story of how his powers burdened him, but she couldn't help feeling it was the wrong way to look at things. "Sometimes our weaknesses are what make us so special." She put her fist to his chest, then extended her fingers to a palm and retracted her hand. This was a sign of affection, one that her father had taught her. It meant many things, such as, to spare someone from death, trust them with a secret, and wish them well. " It is an assassin's code. I will spare your life," She winked back at him.

He chuckled. "My weaknesses were programmed into me by scientists"p he explained simply. "But thank you Rocket, that means a lot" He laughed and mimicked her gesture. "Right back at you, pretty kitty" He looked around and flexed his hands. "Do you mind teaching me how to fight or kill without powers, seeing as you are a great assassin?" he smiled at her and held up his gun. "I need to learn so if I can't use my unstoppable power for some reason I can still do some damage"

Rocket looked behind him, as if afraid someone was watching. "Ummm- isn't that what Slade is for?" She wondered, walking away from him. She went over to a tree and carefully removed her cloak, revealing a sleek fitting suit that complimented her well, and even extended up to her hair. The suit made is easy to maneuver in and was designed to help her transform. She remembered stealing it from the FROGS headquarters when they infiltrated to save her mother.
She turned back to him, showing off the belt that fell just below her true waist line(idk if you know, but the waist is like just below the ribs, so the belt is hanging on her hips basically, like a normal belt, lol.). The turn also showed off two pistols and her spare daggers. "Alright, I'll try." She confessed, having never had a pupil before. She raised her hands to show him specially designed knives that fit around her arm and were hidden below her hands. "I don't want to take these off, because it's annoying to get them back on, but just know I won't be using them."

"Slade is...complicated. Plus He wants me to spend time with you and my other pupils and since I don't rightly know what to teach you, I'll just create an excuse to spend time with you until I do" He chuckled and watched with interest as she put on a special suit and showed him her knives and gun. (I know, lol. but thank you) "That's all I ask. That you try" he told her gratefully and nodded. "Sounds good, mentor Rocket" Dimitri winked at her

"Cute," She commented as he winked at her for the second time. Rocket walked over to the arena. "To assassinate, you must think only of your target and how easily they'll fall at your feet. This luxury changes when you're forced into conflict you didn't anticipate. The matter stays the same, however, you must have a goal in mind. Say you're escaping the FROGS headquarters and there are people in your way." She turned toward the dummy and sighed, "These aren't really as effective as the ones I was trained on, but I'll make do." She walked calmly toward the dummy, taking out her dagger. Her eyes stayed on the forest before her and she only glanced a moment toward the second target to her right. She pulled a gun out with her other hand, before swiftly tossing her blade into the right dummy's stomach target. It seemed as if she didn't have to look, keeping focused on the exit. She then fired at the target in front of her, blowing the head off and walking passed him.
She laughed a bit after putting her weapon back into it's holster. "Okay, well obviously that was way too easy. Perhaps we should just spar?" She wondered, unlatching her holsters and tossing them aside.
